Plastic mold manufacturing process flow
Plastic mold manufacturing process flow
1. Drawing design
The first step in plastic mold manufacturing is to design drawings according to the requirements of the product. Based on the data provided by the customer, the designer uses CAD and other software to conduct 3D design to determine the internal and external contours, shape, size and other parameters of the mold.
2. Mold processing
After obtaining the design drawings, mold processing is required. First, the mold raw materials are processed into various parts of the mold using processing equipment such as planers and milling machines, and then finely processed through perforation, threading and other processes to make the mold reach the size, shape and accuracy required by the drawings.
3. Laser marking
With the continuous advancement of modern technology, laser marking technology has also begun to be used in the plastic mold manufacturing process. Laser marking can mark the mold to facilitate the management and use of the mold.
4. Heat treatment
After the mold is processed, heat treatment is required to improve the hardness and strength of the mold. Common heat treatment methods include quenching, tempering, etc. The hardness of the mold after heat treatment can be increased to about HRC45-50.
5. Polishing
After the mold is processed and heat treated, it also needs to be polished. Polishing can improve the finish and precision of the mold surface, make the mold flatter, and improve the surface gloss of the product.
6. Parts assembly
After the above steps, all mold parts need to be assembled to form a complete set of molds.
7. Mold trial
After the mold assembly is completed, a mold trial is required. Mold trial refers to injecting a certain number of samples into the mold to check whether the mold can be used normally and meet the product requirements.
8. Product Inspection and Delivery
After the mold trial, the injection molded product needs to be inspected. Once qualified, the plastic mold manufacturing is completed. Finally, the mold is delivered to the customer and corresponding repair and maintenance services are provided.
The above is the detailed process flow of plastic mold manufacturing. Each step requires strict control and operation to greatly improve the quality and service life of the mold, and promote production efficiency and product quality.
